iVPN is a high-end VPN network that provides reliable and consistent networking solutions across the globe. The VPN comes with a simple and elegant website and an extremely easy-to-operate interface. It is currently equipped with the multihop technology that turns out to be quite handy in routing your online traffic via multiple servers for added privacy. However, despite these handy and lucrative features, the support team and the slow L2TP performance turned out to be some major glitches of this VPN. We liked the overall performance of iVPN and were impressed by its Mac client customization, and the superb OpenVPN performance.
What we loved about iVPN
Well, there are a couple of features of iVPN that totally impressed us. These include, the superb encryption of the network and it’s consistent and glitch free speed. But besides this, there are also some more additional features of the network that totally steals the show. Some of them are as follows.
- Simple and hassle-free signing up
- Quick configuration
- No logs are kept
- Allows browsing in exceptionally high speeds, without any speed throttling
- Unlimited bandwidth
- Proper and comprehensible documentation
- Tunnelblick, a popular client, has been separately customized for Mac
iVPN comes with a good and high-value infrastructure. The company does not reveal information regarding the number of servers or IP addresses. They only mentioned that the servers are located extensively around USA, UK, France, Netherlands and other European countries. The network also offers a stringent 256-bit encryption via OpenVPN, PPTP and L2TP protocols.
We were happy with the superb and glitch free performance of the iVPN network. On running the DNS leak and IP change test, the network fared well, as expected. Again, the speed test results were also commendable. On connecting the network via a multihop connection in UK, we observed a download speed of 1.69 MBPS, an upload speed of 0.19 MBPS and a ping rate of 284 ms. The results totally met and fulfilled our expectations. We were also impressed to find that this VPN does not have any speed and bandwidth caps. Currently, iVPN allows up to 2 concurrent connections.
iVPN allows P2P sharing. However, it blocks peer to peer sharing on the US servers. The network does not limit server switching.
With our expectations set high, we were somewhat disappointed with the help and support option of the network. Currently, iVPN comes with a ticketing facility where the tickets are responded after a comparatively long time. In fact, according to some customer verdicts the tickets are not responded at all. There is no live chat or email facility. The VPN does have a forum, but only some basic questions are answered here.
Currently, the network supports both the open source and custom apps. Among operating systems, it is compatible with Linux, mac and PC. Again, among devices it is compatible with Android and iOS. This VPN also extends support to the DDWRT router.
Price and Payment
The price of iVPN is slightly on the higher side, compared to other top notch networks like BolehVPN or Vpn4all. Currently, the network is available at a monthly package of $15, a quarterly package $40, a bi-annual package of $70 and an annual package of $100.
Payment can be made via;
- Master Card
In the news
According to the user chatter on reddit and bestvpn, most of the customers are totally satisfied with the network. The users love the ‘no logging policy’, glitch free speeds and flawless video streaming experience of this VPN. However, despite the rave reviews some of them have expressed dissatisfaction with the weak support team of this network.
Well, with the superb connectivity and the glitch free browsing experience iVPN is totally worth a shot. Go for this VPN to enjoy consistent and flawless video streaming without any speed breaks or security issues.
